Pier head jacks are used in conjuction with the steel piers that make up the foundation system of a mobile home. The jack attaches to the top of the steel pier, providing an additional 2 inches (roughly) of height to the pier itself, connecting to and supporting the beams of the home's underframe. Different shapes and styles of jack head are available depending on the spacing and location of the steel piers relative to the mobile home beams. The saddle jack has a U-shaped construction that allows the jack head to fit around a single small beam.
